Yes the A/C set up was on the order sheet, but it came to the dealer in a box(s) in the trunk, with instruckions how to install it, at least that the way it was sent out of the Somerville, MA and the Chicago assembly plant. Maybe in the larger assembly plants, Wahwah, Dearborn, Dallas, etc. it was added on the assembly lines.

Lou, I am unsure if "some" were sent in the trunks of the cars they were destined to be installed in. I do know that the heater core, plenum box, dash holes cut next to speakers etc>> would be a mass undertaking once the dash, windshield, trim etc was on /in the cars. Stranger things have taken place in automobile history, but a dealer installation, "after the fact of factory line build" would have required a lot of evasive work and damage to a brand new car. The price on the "very" rare factory indash system is now $1500. Regards, John
Is this the worlds first exotic automobile? The 1935 Harris fwd speedster, No heavier, higher, wider, taller or longer than an AC Cobra, but many many decades before.

John, the 2 parts cars I had, once you removed the A/C grills looked like something chewed on the dash.
