I suspect what James friend was talking about is the fact that they are machining our heads, so there are lots of Y-Block heads at Edelbrock's Corporate machine shop which is part of the same complex as the offices. We have spent 2 days up there going over machining of the heads. I knew they were working on the 4.0L Jeep head. As far as the 3-2 Y-Block intake goes, Vic wants to do it but the board of directors or who ever is making those decisions doesn't want to. I sent them pics of their Y-Block valve cover and tried to talk them in to it. I think it would be more profitable then the 3-2 intake. Back to our heads, we have received 2 heads that look very good and they are working on getting more finished.

Thanks john, that should bring everyone up to speed, we appreciate the effort and frustration you endure. I know from over here that there is definite demand for the heads. Best regards bill.

small steps. edelbrock decided it was not profitable to make the 3x2 intake. they posted a response on the HAMB regarding this. if they decide it make anything Y related, it should be the vintage classic finned valve covers. i'd heard the mummert heads were being machined there also. be thankful they're not being made in china.

Rumours about Edelbrock casting their own Y-Block heads seems very unlikely. They are already making a profit casting & machining Mummert's heads. Why would they also want to enter the limited market themselves?.. Doesn't make any sense as I see it.. As for the Tri Power intakes, they likely dropped that idea because there are so many original used ones available.

I figured that it was the Mummert heads he was talking about. My friend said that he didn't even know anything about the Mummert heads, I told him they've been around for several years now. He is an FE guy, but like me, loves all Ford stuff. I have Y's, 5.0's, Clevelands and mod motors...and I love them all. Thanks for weighing in John..
