I want to convert the 3 spd on the tree in my 56 fairlane to 3 on the floor.what shifter am i looking for? thanks

Why? That's half the fun of driving a three speed in these cars. A floor shifter also makes it uncomfortable for the middle passenger when driving three across.

49 to 56 Fords were one of the best easyest shifting cars on the road, most of the floor shift changeovers we a pita to shift, hearst being the exception.

Hurst is the best. The one I had, that I seem to have misplaced years ago, was spring loaded so you just shoved the handle straight foreward to go into second gear. Neat setup.
