Hi,

Anyone used peened/polish Y-block rods from John Stark (Nitro4300 on ebay) or done business with him. He's offering to prep a set of C1TE rods for me. Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks

Jerome

I could be wrong of course but I didn't think so, and certainly not grinding and polishing. anyway it increases surface hardening.

I bought a set of rods prepped by John Stark and am very pleased with his work. My engine performed well on the dyno, but the true test will be some hard miles and track time. look at "dyno results" in the street topics. Also got a billet timing chain & gear setup from him.

Isn't shot peening normal?

Like Al mentions, that’s something not offered by most shops.  And some shops that have the equipment simply use shot peening for a cleaning operation and not for metal stress relieving.  The air pressure, orifice size, and shot size all play into the science of this which means if done improperly, it’s potentially doing more harm than good.
