55 Ford, Club Sedan, 292, Fordomatic, Edelbrock 525cfm, "B" 4 barrel intake, etc.

I am doing the PCV changeover, and I have a 57 valley pan to replace my old 55 pan. I understand that Ford used PCV for their cars and trucks with 292's in the 60's. Where can I find one of those adapters that bolts down to the rear of the pan in the existing hole, and then can I use an everyday pcv...

That one is from California.The Federal(I think) and for sure Illinois law didn't go in to effect until 63.California law required them starting in 61. On 63 and 64 trucks that valve screwed into a tapped hole in the manifold directly in front of the carburetor.It then had a pipe that ran along the right side to the the back of the engine and into a grommet in the very rear of the valley cover.That valve is available at about any parts store.I got one at NAPA about 2 weeks ago.

All you need do is drill a hole in the valley pan, install a grommet and a 289/302/5.0 90 degree PCV valve in whatever you have now, not a big deal. The hard part is deciding where to hook the other end of the hose into the intake manifold.Wink

This is one of about a thousand ways to do this.............

The homemade tee/elbow screws down on the opening left when I removed the road draft tube - uses a "straight" PCV like the one you found on ebay. The check valve in the PCV prevents a backfire from pressurizing the crankcase.

The hose loops around behind the distributor body and back to the PCV port on this Holley carb set-up......
