Anyone with experience with Tee-Bird Products complete Felt Kit? They claim the glass runs are prebent with all clips installed. I've never done this job on any car. All input on how to do it or shortcuts appreciated. Thanks~~~~Ron My car is a 1955 Ford Customline Tudor!!!

I really can't help, but I had to redo the glass runs on my 54 Victoria. I had to strip the metal part of the old lining and relined these with a product called moleskin that I got from Tee-Bird. The metal part was not replaceable, you had to use the old ones. I don't know if a two or four door sedan are any different in this respect. I didn't have to replace the horizontal whiskers. Can you post a picture of what you got from them?

I replaced all of them on my 56 Tudor with kits I got from Mac's.They are probably the same kit as T-Bird's.It was not a terribly hard job to do.I don't know any short cuts.Just take your time and be careful. You do have to remove the windows. If you have a shop manual,it's a lot easier. They are easily bent out of shape. They don't fit as well as the originals, but are OK. Good Luck

I haven't purchased anything as of now!!!! I'm looking for input on where to purchase and quality of kit. I'd like to find someone that has purchased Tee-Bird Products felt kit for their '55 2-door sedan and let me know how it fit and looks.~~~~Ron

Tough; Other places you might get what you need are Dennis Carpenter Repro in N.C. or Concours Parts in Nevada. I don't know how difficult it is on a 55 to replace the whiskers strips, but on a 57 it usually requires a different attachment method, as Ford used a stapled setup which is almost impossible to duplicate... I don't know if the following helps & some would consider it "hokey", but for small difficult access areas, I cleaned the area well & used the fuzzy side of black Hook & Loop (Velcro) stick on strips, cut to size..

For my 48 Ford, I attached the horizontal strips with # 4 flat head screws. As was mentioned, trying to use the staples was a real pain. Later, when I redid the car, I replaced the fuzzy strips on the outside of the window with the modern rubber type that I got from Restoration Specialties. Much better looking in MHO

Thanks to all for responding. After much research and communications with Tee-Bird Products, I decided to go with their complete kit for front windows and rear quarter windows. I want the Stainless Bead on all my parts. I think it adds a good look!!!! I'll be ordering the kit next week. I'll be out of town for awhile but will post when I finish the job. I'd like to put a picture of my '55 everytime I post....How do I do that???? Tough-55

Go to "Control Panel" at the top of this page, then click on "Edit Signature" on the bottom left. You can create a signature and include a pic if you like.

G,day from Aus, with regards to attaching a picture to your signature box, after much trying, cursing and crying...What worked for me was after loading your photos into the "photo bucket" program I just simply copy and pasted the photo in the spaces provided. Hope this helps.
