Ted it looks like almost the same format as last year. How about we ask the committee for a variance on the mushroom lifter rule for the Y Block. Sounds like the engine you were going to enter is almost complete. If there was an exception made would you still be interested?

If the factory mushroom lifters could be used, yes, I would be interested. I was just considering redoing last years EMC Y engine so it would be more pump gas friendly and do something else with it. But I’d leave it in its current format if it could be a player. I recognize that the larger engines still have a mechanical advantage but the factory iron Y heads are still optimal at the 312 size for a competition of this nature.

Lets push them guy's. there is no reason a stock motor should not be in competition with other non stock units, what are they afraid of.

Oh! I forgot, they are afraid because a 50 year old motor won the pan american race against newly modified high horsepower competitors.
