Ive got a complete front end rebuild kit for my 54 merc and just wanted to know what if anything i should look out for when pressing in the new bushings. Ive rebuilt a front end before but never installed bushings. Thanks Mike

I take mine to a front end shop and have them press out the old and press in the new. While it can be done with out a press, your much better off using one. Just had the lower ones done in my Bird.

I agree. Take it to a shop with a press. I had a local "mechanic" remove the old bushings and he used a Giant hammer and he beat up the control arms. Use a pro, its a once in a lfetime job.

That is the correct answer. If you don't have a press, take it to a shop that does. The "Mickanick" with the BFH will likely bend the arm badly enough that you won't be able to correctly align the car. That'll cost far more than you'll save.
