I am sorry to say that this years Y-Block Nats will not have a Canadian contingent ( unless someone else can step up to the plate?)!  I have been convinced by some of my local car Buddies to head to the Woodward Cruise this year. Unfortunately time and money only allows for one event or the other. That being said I figure if I don't show, it might give the Aussie's a chance to actually win the "International Match Race" if no one challenges them!!! LOL  I will however put up $50.00 USD to the best finishing non US racer. This is a challenge to any other Canadian who is not scared to cross the border and race!!!  (This also may include a "Scooter" race since I beat Lon at that too!!!  ) LOL So any Canadian Y-Blockers who wish to carry the flag for me this year may just earn $50 bucks! Hey, it is not much competion, score is Canada 4 Australia "0" !!!!!!! Any takers????

Y-Guy Rob Bill here in sunny a Alabama. If Mr. Obama keeps up his "idea's" We all may have to move north to survive!!!! That said, I would like to be first in line to claim the $50 IF, I can get my old '60 to make the trip and at least one trip down the 1/4 mile!!!!!!!!

Jeez Rob, It's going to be quieter in Coliumbus this year. Woodward's pretty neat too. Make sure your cooling system is working, you're going to need it if the weather is normal "August in Detroit".

I seriously doubt it is a personal reason or a financial reason that Rob doesn't make both shows. I think the authorities will not allow him into the states more than once a year. Have fun at Woodward, buddy.

Hmmmmmm, as a reply to all of your comments: 1.) Yehaa, I would love to have a Canadian Y shoot-out, which I might be able to tag onto a local event at one of our drag strips, but I wonder how many of you would head north to race????? 2.) Sorry Charlie, you have to be a current Canadian Citizen! 3.) Frank, I should be ok, just converted old Vicky to an electric fan, keeps here between 185 and 175 deg. F. 4.) John (smart ass!) just so you know I travel at least once a month for work down to the States, (hmmm maybe I can get them to sponsor me....... not likely  ) and I am welcomed with open arms at the border!!! I haven't seen you up here though................ EH?????

Rob: I'd love to take you up on your offer, unfortunately at Canadian gas prices, the $50.00 would only pay for one days gas for the 3000 mile trip. -(from the Vancouver B.C. vicinity)

Paul, First, cross the border into Washington state! Then the gas is $2.50 to $3.00 per gallon. Still not cheap, I know, maybe you could double up with somebody else from out there. 46 lives in Idaho, and there's others. You only live once. John, he's probably more interested in getting back. When you enter Canada they always want to know if you're a convicted Felon and.................

John, Frank, Don't worry my mouth is big and loud enough to span most boarders!!! I may not make it to Columbus but I will be there in spirit! Bob Martin just emailed me the flyer and this loud mouth Canadian is on the cover!!! Just what I need to boost my "little" ego!!! LOL Now I am not sure if my head will fit in the car anyways!!! hehehehe!!!

Thanks Dennis, I could say that for all the Y cars that show up at Columbus, there hasn t been one yet that I didn t like!!! Not to mention that I have a soft spot for old F100s!! Too bad I can t come this year but I figure it will give all your ears a break, not listening to me shoot my mouth off as usual!!! LOL This year you guys and gals may actually be able to hear the cars!!!! LOL Well I talked to Lon the other day and my Aussie friend says he cannot make it either, so you guys will just have to keep the family party going this year without those loud mouths from the North and South! Enjoy all and be safe!!! Hopefully another Canuck can take my place this year!

I hear he would rather go to some "Girly ,trailer queen " car show than mix it with the big boys at Columbus ?????? If I lived as close to Columbus as Rob ,I know where I would rather be .??? LOL Oh and by the way, if what you said were true,.........wouldn't it look pretty bad on you knowing that you had your butt kicked FOUR TIMES IN A ROW by a " drag queen"!!!!! LOL All kidding aside, I really wish I could go, but I have been brushing off my friends on Woodward for 5 years now! Don't worry I will be back at Columbus soon to kick a certain Aussie's butt once again!!! Be safe all and have fun, show the world what "Y's" can do!!!
