Anyone have a good pic or description of the valley cover that's needed for a 2-4 ford intake (teapots)? Bottom of manifold hits hard on a regular cover...also tried a Mummert cover and even with no gasket, there was still a lot of interference. Thanks Barry L

This is the 2 x 4 pan, they are scarce. I cant speak for others but on my 2 x 4 cars i have pressed the center down on standard pan and have no problems. regards bill.

If you are also moving the oil fill tube an easy way out is 1/4" aluminum flat sheet. Cut to fit and drill. You can also drill it to accept a push in chrome oil fill tube and drill and tap for a PCV. Watch the finned aluminum ones sometimes the fins are too high.

On the factory '56 dual fours, they apparently noticed this problem so they fabricated covers from flat steel plate, about 3/32 thick. Brazed a fill tube in, and spot welded the baffle under the draft tube hole, also the vertical baffle near the front. When I got my setup years ago it included that cover, and I thought it was home made. Later found it was factory. I also have a depressed center type cover that I'm not using.

I’ve seen plenty of modified stock covers where they were simply notched lower in the center of the cover so that the Ford dual quad intake would clear so that’s an option also. As AussieBill mentions, the factory recessed covers are in short supply. There was someone reproducing these for awhile so some of these may still be available. Early on I use to see the factory recessed covers on two barrel cars and didn’t realize the significance of them until much later as they were dual quad engines having their original 2X4 intakes removed.

I also made a valley cover out of flat aluminum plate. I installed a baffle and a PCV port. I'm using an Edlebrock #257 dual quad intake, but never had any interference issues with the valley pan.

Apparenty the aftermarket manifolds cleared the regular valley pan, only the factory 2-4s had the problem.
