Since I was taking some parts off a 56 for a friend I grabbed a complete set of plug wire holders since I dont think both of my motors have a complete set of holders, this car had two flat 4 wire rubber holders with little straps around them for the wires on the drivers side of the motor and since its been so long since I seen them is this correct.

Hi Usually there are flat four holders at the back of the motor and square four holders under the exhaust manifolds at the rear, bottom corners of the heads. Check out page 26 of this on line catalog www.prestigethunderbird.com Barry

I am suprised they were still on the car due to being a pain to reinstall with new wires, the last set I installed took me about 3 hours and will buy good wires and install when the motor is on the stand or before the manifolds go on.

What do yopu mean a pain to install? If you are still doing your own work you must be a contorsoinist also?

If your using the 7mm or 8mm wire on new holders, these can be a real hassle getting them through the holes or, if you take them apart to insert the wires, the clips are very hard to close up. I did it ok with one set because, I think, they were originl holders. Not as successful with a reproduction set, I ended up making new inserts out of nylon in place of the rubber.
These were for new wires, with one end unfinished.
