I need to replace the fuel pump on my 292 whats the best possition for the motor so its off the cam?

The fuel pump lobe will be fully up when the #2 cylinder is at TDC and on its compression stroke. Popping the distributor cap and catching the rotor when it’s pointing at the #2 spark plug wire will get you there.
