Can someone who has put a T5 or Tremec in their 55-57 T-Bird using an adapter give me an idea of where the shifter comes out in relation to the original?  I am mostly concerned with the distance from the firewall or seat in comparison to the original.  I realize that the original is offset to the driver side, and the T-5 and tremec are near the center the trans.

I picked up another Tremec TKO last week, like my '57 sedan has, but for my '57 Bird.  I am looking to put a F-code style supercharged Y-Block in it to use in the Y-Block shootouts and street driving.

Thanks for the help.

Pat, on my T56 which may be similer to the TKO the shifter came up pretty much centering the tunnel and actually a better location than the original in my 56 Tbird.BigGrin

John,

Are you able to answer this for a passenger car? I am thinking of using your adaptor this winter and changing from my FMX to  a T-5 out of a Mustang. Will the shifter interfere with my bench seat? This is a determining factor wheather I do this or not. Also I have many questions as to what parts I need to convert my car to a manual trans. Any advice, list of parts, etc. would be greatly appreciated!!
