I just hauled home a used 292 truck engine from a 64 F-250 that had a 4 speed. My question is I would like to use my current 3 speed toploader from my 223 six, to go back into my 64 F100. Will it mate up to the 292 bell? I haven't tried any fitting yet. Any Advice? Will the input shaft be correct? Any help would be appreciated. thanks. I was planning on updating the flywheel clutch setup too.

Alan the four speed bell will not bolt to the three speed trans, but if you can't find a three speed housing local let me know. If you will pay shipping, I can fix you up.

So what I really should be asking is what would the part # for that bell housing be?

Alan, this might help. Don't forget if you have 57-60 truck you will need the bellhousing with slave cylinder mount. TAAK 7505-B CASTING NUMBER | 6cylinder or Y-Block | 3 SPEED OR 4 SPEED | OKAY FOR CONVERSION | TAAA-7505-A | 54-55 (I-6) TRUCK | 3 speed | 53-56 and 61-64 trucks | TAAK-7505 | 54-56 (I-6) TRUCK | 3 speed | won't work 57-60 trucks | TAAK-7505-B | 57-64 (I-6) TRUCK | 3 speed | Okay all years 6 cylinder Truck | TAAB-7505 | 54-56 V8 TRUCK | 3 speed | Okay 54-56 and 61-64 Truck | TAAM-7505A | 57-60 V8 TRUCK | 3 speed | Okay all years Y-Block Truck | TAAM-7505B | 61-64 V8 TRUCK | 3 speed | Okay all years Y-Block Truck |

Alan, I don't have a # handy, but I don't think the 6 cyl will bolt to the V8.But after looking at the chart that John just posted, I may be wrong. If you look at the 6 cyl bell along side the V8 four speed bell, it is easy to see the difference. The center hole is larger on the four speed and the bolt pattern where the trans bolts up is wider apart.
