There is engine paint thats good for up to 500 degrees and engine paint thats good for 1200 degrees. 1200 degrees for manifolds and headers. 500 degrees for engine blocks, valve covers and sheet metal.
Where does the valley pan cover fit in? In one place, the intake manifold almost touches it. Im assuming the valley pan maybe should be in the 1200 degree category. Im going to use the 500 degree on my valve covers but with the John Mummert Rams, I wonder if I might wish I would have used the 1200 degree. Where they camel hump, they might put off enough heat to blemish the valve covers. Anyone have any experience they are willing to share?
