Hello again and thanks for your info.

I know that a blue thunder with a singel holley 600 works great, got oneSmile

I just like the look and Sound of a multiple carbs setupBigGrin.

I have the 3x2 with 94`s that needs rebuilding,Have been waiting to get Demons for it.

But  then i got a 2x4 intake ,and those a cool to i thinkCool

2x500 edelbrock is something we have used on a mild 289,(yes i know ,not the same but the size is)when we fooled them that they were smaller it worked ok.

Still to decide on combo (might get lucky on the lottery and buy them  both,even if i cant get them running they would look cool on the candy-shelf in the garageSmile

But i am leaning towards 98`s

Far from being expert-tuner ,just super optimist:Wink

But it helps when there are friends who are expertsTongue

After talking with several who had years and years experience with 3X2s, I sold the set up I had, bought a Blue Thunder aluminum intake and a 600 cfm edlebrock.

Pitewagon: Two Edelbrock 500s, that's 1000 cfm wide open, isn't it? Rough carb guidelines have been published in Hotrod & other auto magazines. Steve has alluded to it being a tuning challenge. And based on those guidelines, a mild 292 can't use that much carburation effectively. Maybe if you are a tuning expert, it can be made to work passably well, but I doubt its worth the trouble. One 500 is probably more than your engine needs, even cammed up some.

The three dueces usually feed the iengine from a common plenum - so it runs on 2V until you deliberately add capacity - by opening the other (2) x 2V. Keeps up high flow velocity for low speed engine operation that way.

The dual four barrel manifolds are usually divided into a two "four-cylinder" configuration where you have (2) x 2V at low speed and opening to (2) x 4V at high speed. The lower intake velocity at the carb primary venturi makes tuning of the carbs a bit more critical - and trains you to keep your foot under control too. You may have to alter the throttle linkage to give you the proper "feel".

If i would go with 2x4 it would be new edelbrocks,and i would set them up with a progressive linkage, so that it would only run on one carb most of the time,

The real flame-deal is some thing i tryed on my 72 429 ranchero with fully funktional air scoopw00t

I have had both and preferr the 3 X 2's.   I think they "look" better and you have the ability to run as 2 bbl most of the time and have the others set to open to your liking.   If you are wanting the old original 2 X 4 setup with the "towering infernal"  Holleys you don't have that ability and will find the engine has more carb than necessary to the point it could bog down and hurt performance.   I even had a high performance cam and really didn't like the 2 X 4 set up.   However, the old 2 X 4 set ups are exciting when one catches fire!   (Don't ask how I know!)  J

I have 3 model 94s on mine. I just like the look. I think its a matter of preference. The dueces were more readily available for me. I am switching to the demons when these need rebuilding.

Question asked many times before i`m sure,but not by meBigGrin

What carb combo would you recomend : 2x4 edelbrock 500,or 3x2 demon 98

Stock 292 (cam upgrades next winter)
