This got me thinking about AC. I remember a merger between AC and DELCO in the late 60's or 70's but a little search turned up this information. Apparently AC has been hooked up with GM for a long time. ChuckDurant was fascinated when an inventor named Albert Champion gave an impromptu demonstration of a new low-cost kind of spark plug with a porcelain base. Durant immediately added Champion’s infant company to the growing General Motors family. In 1922, it was re-named AC Spark Plug Company and AC quickly became one of the industry’s most recognized aftermarket parts brands.

Ford used AC filters on all 55-57 Thunderbirds except for the 57 E and F Birds.  AC was (and is) clearly marked on them.  High end (Concours) Birds use AC filters.

And all this time I thought AC was a scrub part. I would have thought Ford's fuel pumps were made by Carter.

The 50s Fords came factory equipped with AC pumps.  AC may not have been a gm company then.

I have no problem with AC pumps as long as they are used on GM's.

Just what are you looking for?  Do you need the dual diaphram type with the filter on the bottom?  What is the problem with the AC pumps?  If not, a FE pump with a filter (canister type) on the bottom will fit.  Used in 360 CI pickups.
