I have a similar set up on my '56 - well worth it, no fumes and no leaks from engine.

Hi guys ,
I have a 56 thunderbird with a 312 has the same draft tube that puts oil all over the bottom of my car? I'm thinking
of putting this set up on my car and take to draft tube off. Anyone have this on there car ? Had any luck with it?
Thanks

Oil filters generally have a bypass that ,if the filter is plugged simply feeds the oil back in unfiltered.A blocked cap can cause your problem.

2nd thing to check is the side breather canister. It has a wire/horse hair filter inside, which may be plugged up & or the oil drainback tube, in behind, is plugged. Will require removing the canister cover, then you may be able to clear the tube with a bent piece of wire or compressed air ( which may make a mess however) If not, remove the unit from the block, clean & reinstall. Also, check the canister for a crack or hole ( a rare problem but has been reported) & that the cover gasket is o.k...

Would bad cap do that? Was bad lol Could a pluged oil filter do that ? Have the old still still on?
