Hey guys I ordered the Cardone distributor, the electric water pump caught my eye, has anyone here used these? Where can I find one?

I got my first one through Rockauto too. Didn't someone on here try through them and it just kept putting it on a back order?  About two years ago got one off the net from...I cant remember from where but it was $70 delivered [USA] no core charge..  Still have it in the box ready to go ; o )

Still listed on Rock Auto. It's where I got mine...The condenser gave up in about 6 months and a Petronicis in in there now.....

Good luck at finding a Cardone remanufactured one ..If you see it grab it as they are now very hard to find.

When the teenaged counter help asks what year and model you are working on tell him it is a 1964 Ford PU with a 292.  He'll be able to find it that way.  Or go to Rockauto on line.

Rather than memorize numbers - look under the cap. The pre 57 version will have a pair of springs visible above the point plate. The later version has points and condenser on the plate but all of the springs will be concealed below. I noticed a nice Cardone rebuild on Epay for about $85 - not too bad for reman but you can sometime get a bargain.

I purchased the edelbrock 1406 carb and am looking for a distributor now, is there specific part numbers to look for to get a 57 or newer one, thanks for all the help

Yes it'll work, but do what Hoosier said and do both the carb AND distributor at the same time, I run a 1405 on My F code on the street, works very well.

I ran a 1405 for several years, first on a stock 55 292, then with a supercharger (re jetted), and then on a motor bored and stroked to 320, with an older model Y-270-S cam. Easy carb to work on, and just worked. If you're not going larger, or a radical cam, the 1404 (500cfm, manual choke) might be better. Pardon the scrub mention, but we moved a 1404 from a 265 to a 350 crate motor (330 hp version), and it ran out of capacity and went rich on the dyno, more than you could jet around. A 1405 solved that problem, so maybe that puts some perspective on the sizing. We moved the electric choke over to that carb, and I had a hell of a time setting it up. Still need to change it summer/winter. My buddy's car, and he didn't want to,run a manual choke. I'd stay with the manual version myself.

And change the dizzy for sure.

I see you have "C" heads, which suggests a '56 engine.  If you change the carb, you need to also change to a '57 or later distributor.  The '56 distributor won't work satisfactorily with a non-'56 carb.
