I must have been half asleep when I wrote the question!  Upper ball joints is what I meant.

thanks for the feedback -- I've got aerostar springs, front end parts (sway bar parts, a-frame bushings, upper ball joints), a transmission cooler and some KYB shocks on the way.  The springs and shocks are on the list because of all of the information I've gathered on this site!

Mike;
I bought a ball joint for my 56 Customline from Bob Drake about a year ago. The ball joint and rubber grease seals were fine, but if I remember, I didn't get the little metal dust cap and had to use my old one. Rono

See eBay... search for item 191195872231... don't wait... only three left... $4.00 each
NOS 1954-57 Ford Front Ball Joint Shield #B4A-3055-A

I bought two...no disappointments...

The ball joint and rubber grease seals were fine, but if I remember, I didn't get the little metal dust cap and had to use my old one. You can also look at Concourse Parts, Mac's Antique Parts, Dennis Carpenter and Tee Bird Parts for replacements. As far as the sway bar replacement bushings, do not trust Rock Auto. Even though they say they fit, they do not. I can't remember where I got mine, it was a few years back, but look at the above companies for those too.

I am tracking down parts for my '56 Parklane.  I need upper u-joints and found some for sale at Dearborn Classics ($28) all the way to $175 at O'Reilly.  I don't know what justifies the price difference and want to make sure I find well made parts.  Any suggestions on who to buy from?  I also need a kit for the sway bar (does anyone sell neoprene bushings?) and control arm bushings.  Thanks for any tips,
