Thank you all for your help.I am aware of the necessity to check wall thickness before boring any more.This block,actually the whole engine came from an old gentleman who told me this was the engine out of his race car that he" used to run on the beach"( I live in the Daytona beach area) .This guy is 80 if hes a day,I am 64 and he looks old to me!. I took all this with a grain of salt.The engine had been sitting in a garage for (he said) 40 years+.I got it apart and it appears he was telling me the truth! The inside of the block has had the casting flash ground out and been glyptol coated,ditto the valley.The engine has been balanced (not factory) etc.Once I get it all apart I will try to post some pics of the pieces.One cylinder has gotten water in it and has pretty deep corrosion.I will have to sleeve that one.the others have no ridge at all and may be straight.I will find out.Again,thanks for your help.

If worse come to worse, you can sleeve it.

Egge makes .80 over pistons. You need to sonic test to look for core shift. They worked well for me in my current 312.

Can't help you with the pistons...but at already 0.060" over, you should seriously consider having the block tested for wall thickness before investing in bigger pistons. Especially if you're building a performance engine. In that case, those in the know on this site, don't recommend going beyond what you have now. ..

I have a 312 engine that is +060" now.Does anyone make stock style pistons in +070" or 080"? I am aware that I can have pistons custom made but I dont want to save the block that badly!
