Right on 60 Fairlane and Hollow Head.  The best beer is a 4:00 in the afternoon in your own back yard after working on (sorry playing with) a y block all day.  With old cars there is no work its all play.

That Kilt Lifter sounds scary and scottish BigGrin. But, anyhow, those competitions really are just drop in a barrel. If all the beers of world would be put to the same table, who could try them all and afterwards remember which one was best. So, let's just stick to what ever is locally available and drink more beer...

Mark, I spent 2 years in the land of GOOD beer -Germany, while in the army. Came home in 1987 and had to satisfy myself with Labatt Blue, Corona and Sol. The micro brew/brew pub/home brew revolution that began about the same time (late eighties) was a god send, so to speak. I've been home brewing for almost 22 years now and occasionally bottle up something acceptable. The point is good beer is where you find it. If your lucky enough to find it and that's becoming easier all the time. PROST!

Beer you say? Not all American beer is piss water. I'm rather fond of Free State Brewing out of Lawrence (Larryville) Kansas. Lots of good brew from small breweries all over this fair land. Drink local! Maybe Australia, and Canada, need more Micro Breweries? Just some good natured chain yanking guys, don't take it personal. Dave.

This is mostly true.  If you are using the beer produced by multi-national beer companies (who brew each others beer to maximize profits) then you are just not getting out enough.  To say one country has better beer than another is crap. You can only make that assessment if you try them all.  Vancouver B.C., like Portland Oregon has more micro breweries than you can count and I am sure there are a thousand other cities just like them.  They all make better beer than Molson's or Coors (who brew each others beer).  One of my frvorite beers is Kiltlifter out of Seattle and at 6.5% alcohol it lays to rest the week American beer myth.  My all time favorite is any of the Innis and Gunn varieties, 6.6% out of Edinburgh Scotland, finished in Scotch or rum  (and other seasonal varieties) barrels. And about these taste tests and awards.  I think the big breweries make up the award and give it to themselves, just like the wine industry. Just my 2 cents from someone who goes out of his way to test a different beer as often as reasonable.

Well, if it's the same Fosters they sell herein Finland, it definetely is not. It's same kind of beer barrel washing water like US Budweiser sold here BigGrin. Maybe they have given false recipe to make it here in local breweries, or it just is bad afterall...? I know I know... nobody drinks Bud or Fosters...

US took two victories and Canada none. Belgium was on top of most lists and Finns drank all the beer available and had zero to sent to that competition... Finnish beer was that good BigGrin.
