Thanks I am doing a frame off restoration of a 55 ford 2 door hardtop and still have a lot of time before I get to the steering column.

Thanks I guess I am looking for a later model possibly with a tilt wheel.  There is an article from Dick Aslet and it sounds like he used a GM column.

I have the column and steering box from a 59 Fairlane in my 52,
virtually bolt in, 3" shorter so you can use a dished wheel, and
more modern recirculating ball, makes for easier steering.

I have a 1955 Ford Fairlane that I want to replace the steering column. Any suggestions as to what I can make work?
