Is there any difference in the input shafts from 1954 to 1959 FOM.I am doing another FMX -FOM rebuild and ended up with a front pump & input shaft from a 54 Woodie.

Lon. I have a 1955 medium case FOM and a 1960 medium case COM ( FOM that the advertising thought needed to be jazzed up) and NO the input shaft on the 55 is fewer splines and courser than the 1960 input shaft. And so the two torque converters do not fit the other transmission. The front retainer does have the same casting number. Pete
And Merry Xmas if a bit late for Oz.

Sorry I do not understand. You wrote "Is there any difference in the input shafts from 1954 to 1959 FOM."  The answer is YES there is a difference. The 1958 and later FOM, COM input shaft (s) have more splines. And if you use a later input shaft then you will need a compatible T/Q and flywheel. Pete
