It states its a HEI distributor , these might be slightly more for these models but its over priced actually, I had one delivered to my door for my Cuda for $70.. My guess is that it will have a 4 pin module, simply replace for a Bosch unit, even Pertronix make them. Use a correct coil .045 ohms we use The Bosch HEC716 here in Australia. Your plug gaps should go out to 1.3mm  about .050. Make sure you have 12 volts plus at any time, and check the reluctor gaps..  The distributor you will have to tune yourself Tim , I'll bet the stated figures will be off. I have one like in my Cuda for a few years now  no probs whatsoever. I thought the build quality was great , just the electrical side of it was iffy..

2721955meteor brings up a good point on the MSD distributors.  They are prone to corrosion due to condensation when the temperature changes.  Drilling a couple of small holes in the side of the cap helps to minimize this.

Thanks Ted!  I have always been a believer in "if it's too good to be true it probably is".

Tim.  Welcome back.  You’ve been missed.  Thanks for posting that as I was unaware of an additional billet distributor offering for the Y.  At $175, that’s significantly less expensive than the MSD offering.  I can see where the price is going to be a very attractive selling point.

At this point, I’m pretty negative on those offshore distributors that have that MSD look.  On my end and where customers have provided offshore built distributors (MSD clones) for their engines, some have been troublesome in the electronics area in regards to erratic spark and simple failures.  Replacing those distributors with another distributor fixed those particular problems.  Those distributors that gave trouble also ended up having replacement issues so there’s some warranty issues that have yet to be addressed.  I’m interested to see how this particular distributor fares in comparison to those distributors already being used as there are several different manufacturers for all those distributors.

I haven't been on here for a while so if this has been covered please forgive me.  Has anyone heard of or used this product?  Looks just like the MSD but a bunch cheaper. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-IGNITION-ELECTRONIC-DISTRIBUTOR-FIT-1955-1964-FORD-Y-BLOCK-239-272-292-312-/171615262094?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts
