ahh sweet as...i will try and find the numbers on the casing...but yeh it was from a f100 that had 3 on the tree .but i wasnt sure of year or what to look up

It derived it's '3.03' name from the actual measurement in inches of the distance between the countershaft and input shaft centerlines.

Ford called these all syncro transmissions the 303 (first gear ratio) which was a good heavy duty 3 speed in 60's.

It looks a lot like the 3 speed that I had in my truck, now on a shelf. So a cable from a '61 F100 will probably work and I imagine just about any newer cable will have the right transmission end because I now use the same cable with the T5.

It appears to be a 3-speed toploader, with very short extension housing. Is there a tag on it with numbers? If so, i can i.d. it for you. My 56 has a 64 Galaxie 352/390 3 speed toploader, was three-on-the-tree, no shifter mounts on extension housing. If the speedo drive is on the left hand side, the gear is left handed, the reverse of standard 4-speed toploader. .

Gday, just trying to find out what this gearbox is?? .i have the exact same one in my project ratrod...And im in need of new speedo cable ...but im not sure what i should be looking up to find one...i know its a 3 speed..not sure what year etc
