What are the symptoms of a burnt exhaust valve? To make a long story short my 292 developed a "pop" in left exhaust pipe. I have run out of ovious things to check like the plug wires, valve lash, etc.

other than compression or leak down test,hold piece of paper over end of tailpipe or hand and see if it sucks back up towards pipe,hold inch or 2 away from.
