this is going to be a very stupid question for the experienced people on this board but i'll ask anyway. i took off the distributor cap and removed the wires from the spark plugs. since i didn't write down which wire goes to which spark plug i need to know the cylinder numbering pattern. if i'm standing in front of the car looking down at the engine what is the pattern? i believe the order is starting from MY right, the front one closest to the radiator is #1 then going towards the back is #2 then #3 then the last one in the back of the engine closest to the firewall is #4. then on my left side closest to the radiator is #5 then #6 then #7 then closest to the firewall is #8. is this correct?
lastly, will the distributor cap #1 thru #8 be obvious or do i need guidance on that too?? this is what i get for trying to teach myself to be a mechanic
