I have my water pump off my 55 Ford Fairlane 272, the number above the water pump reads ECG-6059-B with the casting being at the Cleveland foundry,
I thought the numbers were ECG-6015-B for the 272 blocks. I can't find any information on the 6059 number. Can anyone shed some light on this number?

The 6059 number is Ford's generic designation for timing covers and the 6015  is  for the engine block casting. The other letters and numbers define what year and model.   Barry L

The block number for the 272 will be either on the side of the block or at the back of the block by the distributor.  Any pieces separate from the block will have different part numbers and some of those parts can be shared by other engines.
