That is a great find and a beautiful Car! When I was a kid  My dad  had a  1956 Rideau Wagon With  the same  colour red black and white, and the same Thunderbird special 312 engine! I can remember  him saying  it will pass any thing on the road  but the  gas station!

Rob, don't be sorry because it worked out very well. Neat car and story.

Sorry had to spread it out, but my link didn't work! Figured it would be coll for U.S. Y-Blockers who have never seen a Meteor before!

I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning!

That is one beautiful machine. Cool story too. Glad to see the owner is keeping it intact. Thanks for sharing that.

Beautiful car, brings back memories. 1st car I ever bought with my own money when I lived in Detroit was a 56 Meteor CV tri-tone blue/white/w black insert. Had a tired, leaky 312 w/a Fordo that I replaced with a 292. Looking back I wished I had kept the 312 and rebuilt that but as an 18yr old making 2$ an hour you couldn't afford much more than keeping it going. Had to sell it when I got drafted in '69.
