You have two steel vacuum lines coming from the vacuum/fuel pump. One goes to the wiper motor, the other to a manifold vacuum source. Disconnect the line to the manifold and connect your gauge at the manifold port. Or, you can disconnect the same line at the pump end and attached the gauge there; it's whiscruber is easier.

Hey there, quick question. Where would one install a vacuum gauge on a y-block 272 with a 4brl carb for adjusting idle speed? I know where the vacuum lines are but I'm not exactly which ones are intake and which are out take.
