Finally getting back to assemble on a '59 292. I took it apart 3 years ago and while I bagged, tool photos and labeled everything I still have a question.
On the lower right side of the block just above the oil pan there are 3 holes. The front and back ones are horizontal and threaded. The center hole is larger, at a 45 degree angle and it's opening is smooth (not threaded). It appears to be blocked with a metal plug. There appears to be passageways inside the outer two holes. Do these 2 holes need to be plugged?
I bought a plug kit and it does not have plugs for these holes. It's hard to tell but from pictures online it looks like these holes are left open. Does anything go in the center hole?
The oil dipstick hole is different and at the front of the block.
