Yesterday I was talking with a guy who was building a 292 block with a 312 crank (machined for the 292) for his 58 pickup. He was looking for some early Bird parts because he said to me that the 312 crank required him to get the early Bird parts because the crank was different than a sedan crank
I always understood that the cranks were the same and only the balancer/damper was different and either balancer (Tbird and sedan) fit on any 312 crank.
Is he right - or is it something to do with the crank being modified for the 292
Sorry about the title mistake - should be 312. Cant be changed?
