Not bad Lon, but how about the telephone, the "Blackberry", Canada Arm on the space shuttle, personal water craft (Sea Doo) and of course who could forget snowmobiles. We also had the fastest jet fighter (the Arrow) back in the 60's until our great government scrapped the projectCrazy Just when I was trying to be nice you had to throw it back. How does a great lady like Lynne live with you everyday?Wink

Usually when I'm down there, I have a hard time finding a toilet that will hold water - have they done any work toward sorting that out yet?

Usually have to bring my own pepper shaker too? What's that all about? That powdery white stuff looks like ashes.

And don't get me started on the vegemite.................

Did someone mention my name ???

Hey Rob, I almost take back everything I said about you ? I asked the question about "Worlds Fastest Indian " back on 19 th Apr 2006 in the old ( this n that )forum . Frank was right , you are slow. Now onto a more serious note . Aussies have invented some darn fine things over the years .Just to name a few , Garage roller doors, elecrtic drills,2 stroke lawn mowers,Combine Harvesters,Black Box Flight Recorders ,Differential gears ,Xerox copying ,Wine casks & last but not least , Refrigeration .Unfortuately we weren't real smart at marketing them . Just about everything was sold off overseas .Now we buy them back from China & Taiwan for 50 times the price we sold them for ??? I haven't heard of many/any inventions coming out of Canada ???Maybe you could enlighten us ??Ah

Regards Lon56

Rob is correct, of course you know i like bikes almost as well as Fords. I actually went and bought this movie to make sure I could find it again. Usually I just rent them. The story is true and several of Munro's records still stand 20 years after his last runs. Actually made pistons in a coffee can.w00t

Hi guys, this might not be exactly Y related, but I figure for all the "chirping" and "razing" I do towards the Aussies, I have to pay my respects. I watched a movie last night "The Fastest Indian" staring Anthony Hopkins. It is based on the life story of Burt Munro a Indian Motorcycle land speed record holder at Bonneville. I highly recomend watching this movie. Now Burt was actually a Kiwi, not an Aussie, but it reminds me of Bill St.Lawrence and his achievments with the Y-Block. Us here in North America can readily find parts for our toys at Napa and the likes. Down Under, these guys made most of their own parts and built machines that would put ours to shame. The inovation that these gentlemen came up with was purley amazing and is the root of all hot rodding. That being said, my hat's off to the boys down under for their contribution to our Y-Block cause and hot rodding in general.

P.S. Don't tell Lon I said this! Whistling
