Hi, I am looking for resources to rebuild the stock gages. The car has been converted to 12 volt if possible I would like to have the gage modified for 12V? Thanks

The 12 volt conversion are a bad move, but seeing as your stuck with it, put 6 volt resisters in the line to the gages. FYI gages don't care about polarity.

If the Gauges work as is You only need a 12-6 voltage regulator like Ford used the have on mid 60's Cars. Also available now as electronic aftermarket Items. There is usually only one Power Source single Wire from Ignition Switch supplying all Gauges. 12 Volts into regulator and 6 Volts out. The only Vehicle that Ford built for many Years that used straight 12 Volts was 1956 Ford-the first Year for 12 Volts. If you have an Ammeter which has a Wire running through a Loop on back of Gauge just reverse the direction it passes through Hoop when converting to 12 Volt neg. Ground.

What the original Voltage Regulators consisted of was a Set of Points that opened and close rapidly in a small Housing attached to the back of the Dashboard. 12 Volts in and 6 Volts out. Used on many 60's Fords like Mustang, Falcon Etc.  Similar Items now are Solid State reducers. Available on Ebay as well as other Sources.

what ever you do don,t use a  voltage drop  from 12volt to 6 volt  if they fail  they fail badley and can cause a lot of damage and you don.t need that  Shakey
