After fixing my PS cylinder leak, I found that my transmission in park will start engine an take off in reverse, when put in drive it wont go into gear until I move it between D and N, Are there bushings on shifting rods that would cause this

Should be a simple adjustment to the shifter rod going to the tranny.

I just checked the movement, move shift lever up on the steering wheel, the shifter under the hood doesn't move until  you get to just about drive, I just purchased a book showing all the parts and numbers wont be here after 4th. looks like its in the steering column, any info would be appreciated.

The Lever at the bottom of the Column is pinned used a roll Pin. The Pin is not broken maybe? Or the rod it is pinned to from the PRNDL  Lever is broken maybe.
