Hello Y'ers. I have one push rod that fell out. Apparently that one pushrod is bigger than all of the other pushrods. Why would this be? How would this effect the engine?

The pushrod being larger than the others suggests that it had been replaced in the past.  Could be a tubular pushrod while the existing pushrods may be the smaller solid stem style.   There are a variety of reasons for a pushrod getting loose.  Some of these include: Too long a bolt is installed in the end holes in the cylinder head thus hitting the pushrod Pushrod is contacting the head within the pushrod hole Rocker adjustment not staying put Camshaft/tappet wear Over-reving the engine Valve springs weak Worn cup in pushrod Lack of oil to topend Worn rocker and/or rocker shaft   Once the reason for the dislodged pushrod is determined, simply correct and replace the pushrod.
