RE: Dove Rockers.  Know that I am spooked. Anyone have any success with these.

I think dragster got those.
After chancing the stock adjusting screws, there havent been any problems.
Overflow tubes are blocked.

I have had success with the early production Dove rockers.  I eventually had to stop using them due to too many manufacturing variances in them.  A bad batch of improperly heat treated adjuster screws simply added to the problems.  As I was a dealer for them back in the day, I still have an inventory of them but no longer sell them outright.  This old inventory simply takes care of any come backs that might occur on engines previously built in this shop using them.

Keep in mind that any aluminum rocker arm is going to be sensitive to oil pressure losses at the heads.  Even the Harland Sharp rockers with the bronze bushings are prone to accelerated wear when the oil to the top end becomes minimal.  I’ll recommend that any roller tipped rockers on the Y should have the shafts pressurized with the overflow tubes being pinched off or removed altogether.

Rono, Rocker Arm Specialists is Rocker Arms Unlimited here in Redding, CA. I had spoken to them prior to selling the Mummert aluminum heads, but I haven't done business with them. There's more to it, if I remember right the employees bought out the owner and moved to the Redding location.

Years ago I bought a set from Rocker Arm Specialists and haven't had any trouble with them at all. I think they are somewhere in California now, but haven't seen any advertising from them in a long time.

Eaton Balancing does keep the Harland Sharp 1.6:1 roller rocker assemblies in stock.  Because of valve spacing differences, aluminum heads and iron heads do require different sets. All HS rockers come preassembled on new Schumann ‘Nascar spec’ rocker shafts thus making them ready to install out of the box.  For the aluminum heads, the customer must provide the aluminum stands that are supplied with the heads.  For iron heads, the rocker assemblies can be supplied with either refurbished factory stands or new billet stands.  Aftermarket pushrods with a true 3/8” sized diameter cup at their tops are recommended for use with these rockers. Simply contact Eaton Balancing for current pricing.

I got my Harlan and Sharps from Ted also. The spacing is slightly different on the Mummert heads and the Ford heads so you need to tell him which you have when ordering. Only had mine running for a little while  but no issues so far. I am really impressed with the quality of them. Locking adjustment nuts should stay put. You need to make sure you hold the locking nut securely when you tighten them down so they don't end up with tighter clearance than you want.
