Well I'm finally getting my engine back together and am doing the AOD swap at the same time. I've found that the AOD I bought was from a floor shift car. Can someone tell me what I have to do to the shift lever to set it up for column shift? Do I have to drop the tranny pan to get to it?

Also what has to be done to make the stock column shifter work correctly? I was thinking about a cable shift column adapter but??

And again, any specific modifications to the tranny mount or can it just be redrilled to the new pattern.

I know I'll probably have to have my driveshaft altered but thats no problem. Thanks, Chuck in NH

Y's guys rule!

In '59 Column shifter works backwards so I think I have to change direction in transmission input like this...

...I dont know, how its gonna work, but its otherwise easier modification.

yes you will need to drop the pan to rotate your shift lever 180*.  I was able to to use my stock shift indicator on the column, the indicator ends up on either side of the "D" depending if you are in OD or not.  This was on my 51 Club Coupe with stock column.
