If it Idles good then You should be OK. Too much Vacuum caused by too big PCV will be noticeable at Idle.

Got the pvc in car idles perfect haven’t taken it out yet . Guess we will see if it’s ok Pvc was from 60,s Ford seems to be drawing good at idle. How will I know if it’s working like it should ?

When I did mine I used a PCV for mid 60's 289 Ford. Too much Vacuum at Idle. I ended up using a PCV from early 80's Fairmont / Zephyr 4 Cylinder. Could probably do better Yet. Just haven't tested further. There's an adjustable Aftermarket  PCV available now but Pricey.

Oldcarmark is offering good advice.  O.E.M. P.C.V.valves are application specific except for engines that have had engine modifications like over-bored cylinders, significantly milled cylinder heads, or aftermarket camshafts installed with modified valve lift, valve timing, or valve opening duration.  The appropriate P.C.V. valve opening size and check-valve spring tension will assure the component's appropriate opening and closing operation for your engine which will prevent excessive crankcase pressure build-up and / or poor engine idle.

The auto parts store you turn to should have application information for early '60s FoMoco y-blocks that came equipped with O.E.M. P.C.V. valves.

You may have to experiment to get a PCV  that works not allowing too much Vacuum at Idle. You can try restricting the Hose and see what works best.

Thanks all u guys ! I picked up a Pcv valve at the store it seems the best place for me to put it without taking everything apart is the valve cover. I have a breather on the other valve cover and my Holley has a port to plug the tube into I hope this works really don,t want to put that draft tube back on .

The Draft Tube drain back may  be plugged up. This is supposed to allow oil from the Filter inside the Can to drain back into Engine. I would also suggest You re-install the Road Draft Tube until You figure out what You are going to do. With no ventilation inside the Engine gas Fumes also build up. keep driving it with no Ventilation and the Engine just may go "Boom" because of the Gas Fume buildup..

Paul M. I'd recommend that you consider changing valley pans.  Click the link below to see the valley pan that is usually used for hooking up a P.V.C. unit on a Ford y-block.

You want the pcv port to be located as centrally as possible.  As close the the carburetor as possible with even distribution between the two planes of the intake.  Modern carbs usually have a port designed for this.  Alternatively, a carb spacer may be the best choice.

Ya I thought of a Pcv can I put one on an older engine mine is a 57 ? Where can I tap into the intake ?
