Hello from Finland! Been a while, but we are still running our Altered. This photo is from May 2025 and from opening round of the Finnish Drag Racing season 2025 at Motopark Raceway. There i had my first time behind the wheel. Unfortunately I managed to run only two times then as on saturday just when I was at line up, there were a massive electrical shut down that stopped racing for over three hours. Then I run poor 14.205 / 152 km/h and after that a little better 13.759 / 155 km/h after messing badly with trans brake button. I forgot to lift my finger and wondered why I'm not moving despite tree had run down and green light was on.... Okay and then on sunday it was raining all the time and race was cancelled after 2.00 PM. This time we were running with ECZ-9423-A intake with lot's of adapters and spacers under unmodified 600 cfm Holley electrical choke carb and 1956 distributor with points. My son Roope run in 2002 two races with this same engine with Blue Thunder intake and modified 650 dp and same distributor and run best time as 11.88 then. Okay, on September 5th to 7th there is a new chance as I will be racing at the same track for final and fourth race of the season. (I skipped 2nd and 3rd round). This time we try modified 750 cfm Holley and only 2" four hole spacer under carb and maybe we also try brand new HEI distributor how they work. Hopefully we get enough rounds to set things for new personal best... Friday will be testing session and then qualificatios on Saturday and Eliminations on Sunday. Just hope it doesn't rain this time...

Yes we have couple of good block still spare but those two cracked are already machined to fit the pistons and straightened decks. Our machinist(thanks to awesome https://fi-fi.facebook.com/PpAutokoneistus/   who are also our sponsor might not like when we destroy blocks in every other race and welding is faster than machining whole block so we might get engine ready in race after next. Finnish summer is short and not-so-snowy like they say. Shipping cost might be several hundreds if we want fast delivery. Otherwise block is here in autumn.

Looks like a we try to weld our blocks together. (Both splitted) I look forward how welded block takes the abuse. There is nothing to lose (if big bang dont come to visit) I presume if failure happens, it might be only slipped cam bearing and lost oil pressure again so with WORKING LOW OIL PRESSURE SHUTDOWN risks are minimized.

We had only one datalogged launch with oil pressure curve and zero pressure was calibrated 26 psi off. Upper pressure is not calibrated yet. So didnt turn it on because I didnt want to ruin launch with oil pressure miscalibration. 😣
