Eddie:

On the back of the gauge is a cardboard strip held in place by the nuts on the electrical studs.  Take the nuts and cardboard off and there are two holes where you can take a small screwdriver and move the little toothed cams to adjust the needle position.  One cam adjusts the "0" setting and the other adjusts the scale reading.

How hot was it really running Eddie?

I don't have near the "goodies" that you've got (yet) and on mine the temp at idle - at the thermostat housing - sits right at 100° over ambient...... 195° on a 95° day. This is with a big poppet 160° thermostat so I know the engine can probably "overpower" the cooling system if loads are high. For now its pretty nmuch stock except for the six blade fan.

Thanks for all the help.   Believe I have been fighting a bad guage!!  Finally bought a lazer thermo, when guage was showing 220, rear of engine was at 180 and at the top of rad where upper hose comes in showing 190.  Aftermarket guage, so have put anew dash unit and also sender.  Temp seems to be all over the place trying to get some stabablity in the readings.  Has yet to boil over. what ae you guyses thoughts on drilling manifold for a sender--like auto meter.  Sure would like to get comfortable withthe temp readings.   Thanks for listening to my whinning!!!      God Bless YOU ALL
