Hey, that's a nice old fire truck you have there in the "play production" is that the sme one to be used in the TV show?

Looks like the whole production is really going to be great, Like the website, just wish I could read the language! Is there a US version?

Wow, a y-block starring in a TV show?! The y-blocks getting respect.BigGrin

Here's a link to the tv-show. It's called Lilleby Brannstasjon (Littleville Firehouse). The show is based on the firetruck that the city council wanted to replace because of old age, but surprisingly enough, keeps saving the dayWink Click on "babu brannbil" (Babu firetruck).

Hi all! Very possible that it's ECG not ECC. I only need to know what parts that fit for a user friendly and reliable set up. The truck, a firetruck, is going to be used in a childrens tv-show about a firehouse, so for 'ol Henry's sake, the truck needs to be at its bestCool.

I guess the distributor, fuelpump, and carb is the parts that need to be replaced or rebuilt. From what I can understand, most of these parts are universal for 55-62 engines. Once upon a time the waterpump was replaced with a '54 unit, obviously this did not fit, so an adapter was made. I have 3 EBU's myself, so I will replace the waterpump on the truck with one later model pump that I bought for EBU, that didn't fit... what goes around comes around...

No help with the 56 shop manual, but looking better parts books, there is some info.

F60 is F600 conventional

Z is 272, heavy duty with 2 bbl carb

6 is 1956

then shoud come manufacturing plant symbol but C does not match any and no info for DX

10466 is 466th truck for that year model

That CDX on VIN number might be some code for exported vehicles, because our clubs 56 F600 has ABX after year code 6. But this is just guessing.

Howdy,

what year is the truck? If it's a 55 it could be a 239 or a 256.

If it's a 56 it could be a 272. (it's sure the right color!)

Look closely at the block ID I don't think there was an ECC....That's probably ECG (272)

Could that block casting be ECG? It fits better to it being heavy duty truck 272 from 1956 F600

I couldn´t find my 56 truck shop manual to verify what parts book says. I will check that when I found the shop manual.

Hi all! And greetings from Norway

Is there anybody out there that can help me id'ing this engine? I'm rebuilding it, and want the right parts at first try...

The intake has # ECR 9425-A

Distributor has # Y9R-2413 , FDV , 673 , and 12127-B numbers and 14 tooth drive.

The block has# 16, ECC, and 013 cast on it

The Chassisnumber is F60Z6CDX10466 and E60078T2

The Eickmann book only hints that it might be an EBV, since it has a rear sump, dipstick to the right, and a depopper carb.

But the book also suggests that it could be an EBZ...

IS THERE ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP ME?
