71% of original size (was 706x19) - Click to enlarge Don't know why, but there is no aluminum tanks with baffles, sump and dual inlets and outlets for '59 Fairlane, so I did one for myself. Welding is not great but this is my second project after I bought a Tig welder.

Cool. So, does it actually hold gas? If any of the welds are bad, it will leak.

Cool. So, does it actually hold gas? If any of the welds are bad, it will leak. I pressure tested it with air and soap water. Looks airtight.

Good job! I have a TIG welder and I'm still practicing. Afraid to try on anything of value. What type of filler rod did you use and what Amperage? AC, 2,4mm green eletrode, 1,6mm AlMg5 filler rod, maybe 120Hz, 30% cleaning, about 110A, #7 to #8 gas lence(melted my #8 without gas, doh) and pure argon 10l/min. 4mm aluminum plate. Welding whole tank took about 4kg argon.
