Y-Guys      Just looking thru the latest YBM and Mr Yestertech Jerry, has

several great idea's and I have a question about one of them.

He talks about using a kit from Jeg's to adapt the larger dist cap

          to a Y-distributor. Will this work with a dist from a '60 292,

and will it work with a Petronics or Accel module, and last, will

it "clear" everything ok?    Different rotor?

                                       Just a "Dummy" askin'

I've been off on vacation or I'd have sent these sooner.....the later model parts install on the '57 and up distributors - right over the top of the trigger of your choice.

It simply has a "spacer" that clips on with the original distributor clips and has its own clips to hold on the larger cap. There is a Ford motorsports part number for all three parts or you could get them piecemeal at the auto parts palace of your chioce.

The clearance of the big HEI cap is as shown here......

This cap won't clear the bolt and bracket for the "standard" plug wire guide that fits on the RH rear of the cylinder head - so the threaded hole has been "plugged" with a short socket head setscrew and sealant.

I've been using the Ford "TFI" type coils and bracketing them right onto the original "Y" manifold bosses.

Steve:      I appreciate the come-back on the dist deal.

I wanted to make sure it would work with a Petronics

         deal.                        THx Bill
