Guys,

When I built my 312 I had the following:

Block hot tanked

New Cam bearings supplied by machine shop that did all of the boring/balancing/rods etc.

New Cam from Mummert with center lobe grooved ( clay smith cam)

New push rods from Mummert

New rockers from Vern Schumann

New New Rocker rails from Schumann

Cleaned the rocker stands

New Steel head gasket from Mummert ( installed correctly )

When I check the valves I just don't have much oil on the heads. You can see it on the rockers but really not much in the drain area below the valve springs. I do have what I think is to much valve noise ( set at 18 thou ) cold.

I did not chase the block to see if all oil galleys were fully open.

Oh, I use 15-40 Shell ( the old good stuff)

25 psi at idle 70 psi at 2000 rpm

What am I missing?

Thanks

Jim
