I've been cleaning the shop attic and need to determine the voltages of several generators before trying to liquidate. (thanks everyone for your past support from my ads)
Unit #1 - came from a 239 powered military hydraulic pump. For some reason I think it is 24 V but need to know if there is a way to find out other than taking it to an electrical shop and have them test it. Any way to use a meter to be able to tell? Every wire on this engine was waterproofed and encased in SS braided covers. Any old military (the entire unit was painted gray, so I don't know the branch of service) mechanics on the list that may remember if these units were 24V?
Unit #2 - has several wraps of copper wire about 1/8" diameter wrapped around a cast aluminum tube which is about 1" or so in dia. What is this on the rear of the gen?
I quickly looked at them and didn't see any stampings stating voltage. Thanks for any help.
