Y-Guys      I'm having my #471 heads "worked" and they were

already done earlier I think. The machinist said the seats were

60 thousandts deep and this might affect the rocker geometry.

Can the shaft pedastels be shimmed or?? Please give me some

           feedback.........               Thx Bill

Bill:

There's a possibility that it won't matter, but if it does, Mummert now sells new stands that are stock height one way, and if you turn them over the shafts move away from the head .050".  I've seen a set, very nice.  You could also use the oil deflector trays that '54-'56 Ys had.  Or you could fabricate shims.  But I'd check the geometry before making any changes.
