Jim,I had the same deal with the plastic cap so I replaced it with a metal one and absolutely no leaks since.I got the metal one from either Concours or Mac's.

The TBird parts houses have a master cylinder replacement cap which might work. www.classictbird.com. Part # 2162X, gasket #2167. I don't know if metal or ???. Also check with some of the 55-56 Ford parts houses - they may also have them.

Guys,

I have a new master cylinder on my 56 ford. It has a rubber/plastic cap. It keeps seeping around the cap and getting on my new firewall paint. @#*&!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know if the old style pot metal cap with the o-ring works better? If so where can I purchase one?

Thanks
