We started to load the truck on the trailer this morning around 7:30 am when it quit idling.I could get it started with starting fluid, but it would die as soon as I stopped. We were going to the Ford show and drags at Mason/Dixon dragway. Took the line off at the carb - no fuel.

No problem, I had another fuel pump in the cab. Put that one on , still no fuel. Could run it with a soda bottle filled with gas, using the fuel pump. Took the filter out of the line, still wouldn't run.

Took the sending unit out of the gas tank so I could see in. Hooked a hose on the tank and blew in. I could hear air hissing and no bubbles under the gas. Here the pick up tube came out of the fitting inside the tank. There was solder on it previously. I pushed it back in and you couldn't see there was a problem. I epoxied the fitting and tube and put everything back together again and the truck runs again.

I lost a day of racing, but I'm thankful it happened this weekend rather than next weekend.
